Prospect Steer Rules

1. All entries and awards in this department will be subject to the General Rules & Regulations.

2. The Prospect Steer Show is open to all Texas 4-H and FFA members.

3. All livestock must be owned and shown by the exhibitor unless there is more than one entry by that exhibitor in the class.

4. Classes will be formed at the discretion of the show chairman.

5. Steers will be broken by weight and division.

6. All animals must be halter broken and shown in the show ring.

7. Exhibitors will be responsible for feed, feeding and watering equipment, and keeping stalls clean.

8. Tie racks will be provided. No overnight tying outside the show barn

9. Pelleted shavings and cedar fiber will be allowed in the barn.

10. Prospect Steer Showmanship will be divided into a pee-wee, intermediate, junior, and senior class. Bulls are not permitted to compete in showmanship. One showman from each class will be selected. Pee-wee will be considered 2nd grade and younger, junior will be considered 3rd through 5th grade, intermediate will be considered 6th through 8th grade, and senior will be considered 9th through 12th grade.
